What does a public
washroom say about the organization that maintains it? We at the Gentlemen Plumbers believe that
public bathrooms are a concrete sample of how a company feels towards it’s
customers. Cintas feels the same, and has
been running a contest known as the Best Restroom Award here in Canada since 2010.
Last year, the title
was awarded to the restrooms at 1000
Islands Duty Free on
the Canada-US border in Lansdowne, Ontario.
Combining classic elegance with modern aesthetics, the winning washrooms
feature bowl-style sinks, glossy granite countertops, and private toilet
stalls. When held up against the
majority of public facilities that employ cold metal dividers riddled with wide
gaps and bland interior design, the difference is readily apparent.
Now entering its 6th
year in Canada, we at the Gentlemen Plumbers are watching intently to see who
will take the honour of Canada’s Best Restroom this year. Finalists are expected to be announced this
summer, and we can only wonder if a bathroom here in Lethbridge will grab the
